The lounge has exposed elm beams and an inglenook fireplace with a cast iron Jotul No.6 wood stove, which keeps you warm and cosy in inclement weather. There are some gallery exhibits in the lounge creating an interesting visual atmosphere. A wide screen colour television is there for you to view.

Much of the house has exposed elm beams and the stonewalls are around 29" (74cm) thick. All of the floors upstairs are oiled elm boards – according to a member of the Somerset Historical Society, we probably have the best floorboards in the county!

Our new Garden Room has been designed to be in keeping with the farmhouse providing a very light, spacious and comfortable addition. There is more space for you to enjoy breakfast with a view of the garden. You may just be lucky and see deer and woodpeckers, rabbits and squirrels (no guarantees – as they come and go).

There is also more space to sit and relax at anytime. We have installed a Jotul No.6 in the garden room, which keeps the room very warm even on frosty days and evenings, in or out of season. Having breakfast on the patio is also a possibility with an increasing warmer climate.

Whilst we don't cater for evening meals, we are happy for you to bring back a take away meal with wine and beer, to enjoy in the garden room. We will happily provide crockery, glasses and cutlery and ensure your meal is hot for when you want it.
